Faculty, staff, alumni encouraged to register for Powerful Women Paving the Way

Join fellow professionals, Penn State students, and several high-profile keynote speakers for the 2014 Powerful Women Paving the Way conference, a two-day celebration of women in business featuring networking opportunities and breakout sessions.

Registration is now open for the event, slated for April 24 to 25 at the Penn Stater Hotel and Conference Center on Penn State’s University Park campus. To learn more or to register, visit http://www.smeal.psu.edu/powerfulwomen.

Breakout sessions with a professional focus will emphasize topics such as personal communications in business, utilizing entrepreneurial skills in the workplace and translating business skills into impactful volunteerism.

A mixed focus track will provide sessions with relevance to both professionals and students, including topics ranging from important business technology to emotional intelligence on the job.

Keynote speakers for the event include Bob Moritz, chairman and senior partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers; Beth Brooke, global vice chair of public policy at EY; and Karen Carter, executive vice president of North America Gas & Power Trading at BP.

New this year, a networking reception led by CEO and founder of Lion’esque Group Melissa Gonzalez will kick off the event. The Lion’esque Group, has produced more than 60 pop-up retail experiences in New York City, Los Angeles and the Hamptons.

The annual Powerful Women conference, planned by students in the Penn State Smeal College of Business Women in Business organization, is dedicated to bringing women students and professionals of all levels together to celebrate and advance women in business.
