Relay For Life of Penn State seeks student volunteers for teams

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The Relay For Life of Penn State 2014 will held starting at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 5, at Medlar Field to benefit the American Cancer Society

Relay For Life is an event in which teams camp out overnight and take turns walking or running around a track or path. Events are as long as 24 hours and each team is asked to have at least one participant on the track at all times. There is a survivor lap with cancer survivors celebrating their victory over cancer, a luminaria ceremony where participants remember those we have lost to cancer and a fight back ceremony to inspire participants to take action. Last year, the Relay For Life of Penn State raised a record total of $137,602.59. This year, the theme is “In Relay We Trust, United We Fight.”

Students can sign up for teams at http://main.acsevents.org/site/TR?pg=entry&fr_id=56846. Each participant will pay a $10 registration fee and the more participants are registered in the team, the better chance the team has in winning relay-themed prizes.
