Altland accepts associate vice president of development position

Kelly Altland has accepted the position of associate vice president of development and chief development officer at Penn State Hershey. Altland has held the position on an interim basis since last March. Following a national search to fill the position on a permanent basis, she demonstrated that her leadership and strategic vision made her the right person for the role.

Altland joined Penn State Hershey in early 2013 as executive director of development after serving nearly 10 years as vice president of development for St. Joseph Medical Center in Reading. At St. Joseph, she oversaw the generation of more than $23 million in gifts from individuals, foundations and corporations, and instituted that organization’s first annual fund. She was responsible for the formation and implementation of St. Joseph’s comprehensive development strategy, as well as management and goal-setting for major gift officers, a foundation services coordinator and an annual fund coordinator.

Prior to her tenure at St. Joseph’s, Altland was the director of development for the Shippensburg University Foundation.
