Students' 'Dreams and Nightmares' exhibition on display in Patterson Space

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The exhibition "Dreams and Nightmares," featuring works from Penn State bachelor of art students Sam Rosas and Daniela Ruiz-Feingold, is on display in the School of Visual Arts' Patterson Space through Feb. 14. A reception will take place at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13.

Sam Rosas and Daniela Ruiz-Feingold are two artists who work within surrealism. Ruiz-Feingold finds her inspiration within dreaming and has been maintaining a dream diary for about a year and half in order to document the imaginative landscapes and emotions experienced. Rosas desires to promote the ideology of the impossible becoming possible with unique perspectives and intense color. Both artists attempt to capture the fantastical aspects of their imaginations; some that are sweeter than others.

Feingold’s pieces features a series of works based on a single dream about finding comfort in an abandoned building in the middle of the forest, while Rosas’ work depicts how people take a rabbit's left foot for good luck, but what goes around comes around.
