Holocaust survivor to speak at Lehigh Valley campus

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – Esther Bauer will speak about her harrowing experiences as a Holocaust survivor at 12:15 p.m. March 4 in Room 135 at Penn State Lehigh Valley. The event is free and open to the public.

In her lecture, Bauer, born in Hamburg, Germany, in 1924, recounts the story of how she, her husband, and her father and mother all landed in the Auschwitz concentration camp during the war. Upon being liberated, Bauer, the sole survivor in her family, decided to "live each day, have fun and be a human being." She speaks to students as often as she can so that they will "learn what happened, and see to it that it never happens again."
