Spring 2014 CEO Conversations series opens at Penn State Fayette

Feb. 19 event features regional vice president of Valerus

UNIONTOWN, Pa. – Chris Scheve, regional vice president of Valerus, opens the spring 2014 series CEO Conversations from noon to 1 p.m. on Feb. 19, in the Student Center, located in the Williams Building at Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus. This free event is open to the public.

Valerus is a worldwide industry leader in oil and gas handling equipment, operations, and services, specializing in wellhead production, compression, processing, and treating.

Scheve attended the University of Texas and Thomas Edison State College, where he obtained a degree in liberal arts. Scheve began his career in the oil, gas, and petrochemical industry in pipeline construction and then as a maintenance planner at ARCO Pipeline Petrochemicals group. He then served as a reliability technician for Southern Natural Gas. From there, he moved to Compressor’s Engineering ACTT technical training and consulting division as a corporate trainer for the gas transmission industry. In 2003, Scheve was instrumental in the startup of CEO Pipeline Services, a construction and maintenance contractor to the natural gas interstate pipeline companies.

Scheve is currently the northeast regional vice president of Valerus and is in charge of Marcellus and Utica operations.

CEO Conversations is designed to give students the opportunity to hear from and talk with key individuals in the local, regional, and national business communities about business, entrepreneurship and leadership. CEO Conversations has been running annually since 2008 and is sponsored by Joseph A. Hardy III.
