Schreyer Institute plans Graduate Student Professional Development Conference

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The Schreyer Institute for Teaching Excellence will present a Graduate Student Professional Development Conference from 8:30 a.m. to noon Friday, Jan. 10, in Room 201 Thomas Building.

The sessions in this half-day conference will be especially valuable for graduate students who will serve as teaching assistants or course instructors either now or in the future. The conference sessions will be led by experienced TAs, faculty and Schreyer Institute instructional consultants. Topics will include preparing to be a first-time TA, using the voice effectively in the classroom, creating a productive student-adviser relationship, teaching in the U.S. and teaching online.
