Twenty-four medical students from Penn State College of Medicine’s Class of 2016 will be joining the University Park Regional Campus in July 2014. This will be the third group of students from Hershey welcomed to State College for clinical training in partnership with Mount Nittany Health and other community providers. The Regional Campus continues to grow and has now reached its target for the number of third-year medical students.

“This is a remarkable achievement, demonstrating the hard work and commitment of numerous individuals at University Park and Hershey,” said Dr. E. Eugene Marsh, associate dean of academic affairs for the Regional Campus. “Most importantly, it is a reflection of the excellent educational training and support provided over the last two years by the Regional Campus faculty and staff, and Mount Nittany Medical Center.”

In addition to training more medical students in State College, the University Park Regional Campus continues to work on developing the Family Medicine Residency Program in partnership with Mount Nittany Medical Center. The Regional Campus hopes to welcome its first group of residents in the summer of 2015.
