UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The NCAA announced host sites for 82 of its 89 championships for the next five seasons, from the 2014-15 campaign through the 2017-18 season. The announcement is the largest collection of host site announcements in association history and Penn State has been awarded three of the competitions. The University will also host three predetermined regional championships during that span as well.

University Park will be the site of the 2016 National Collegiate Men's Volleyball Championship, marking the sixth time in school history that Rec Hall has hosted the event. Penn State will serve as the host of the vaunted event on May 5-7, 2016.

Penn State will host the 2018 National Collegiate Men's and Women's Fencing Championships. The event will take place on March 22-25 in the Multi-Sport Building; marking the third time that venue has served as host site.

The Penn State Blue and White Golf Courses will host NCAA Men's and Women's Cross Country Regional Championships twice in the upcoming span. The first, during the 2014-15 athletic campaign, will take place on Nov. 14, 2014. The second, during the 2016-17 year, is set for Nov. 11, 2016.

The 2017-18 Women's Gymnastics Regional Championships will take place in Rec Hall as well. The event is scheduled for April 7, 2018.

Women's Basketball First and Second Rounds for 2014 are predetermined and Penn State was previously listed as a host site. This event will be at University Park on March 23 and 25, 2014. For 2015, they will be non-predetermined sites and will take place on the campuses of the top 16 seeds for the 2015 Tournament.

Women's Basketball Regionals for 2014 and 2015 are predetermined. In this cycle 2015 was awarded to non-campus site only. The 2014 Regionals were previously announced and some of those are on campus.

Women's Volleyball Regionals were awarded for 2015 but Penn State was not selected as one of the four predetermined sites. The NCAA held off on naming predetermined sites for 2016 and 2017 as they may decide to make those non-predetermined and hold them on campus sites of the top 16 seeds for their respective tournaments.

Seven championships were not included in the process due to preexisting site arrangements, including: Division I baseball, Division I men's basketball, Division I football, Division I men's and women's golf, Division I softball and Division III women's ice hockey.
