A public winter stargazing event and pancake breakfast with Penn State astronomers is scheduled from 5:30 to 7:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, at Shaver’s Creek Environmental Center in Petersburg, Pa.

The event will kick off at the Environmental Center and will include activities in other locations in Stone Valley. These activities will include identifying features of the night sky, stargazing, a one-mile walk with a Shaver’s Creek naturalist and a pancake breakfast.

The majority of the event will take place outside. In case of cloud cover that could obscure the view of the stars, the event will be postponed until Sunday, Dec. 15.

The program cost is $5 per person for Shaver’s Creek members and $10 per person for nonmembers. To register, call Shaver’s Creek at 814-863-2000.
