Website ranks chemical engineering graduate program No. 1

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Penn State's chemical engineering department was ranked number one on the list of chemical and biomolecular engineering programs by www.GraduatePrograms.com.

According to the site, the rankings were compiled from reviews by more than 40,000 current and recent graduate students from 1,300 schools across the country between September 2012 and September 2013.

In reviewing graduate programs, the site assigned 15 ranking categories to each program, including academic competitiveness, career support, financial aid and education quality. Schools were rated on a 10-point scale, with 1 being the worst and 10 the best.

Penn State's graduate chemical engineering program received a 9.567 overall, which was the highest rating of any U.S. engineering program.
