Student volunteers to mark 100 Days 'Til THON

November 12, 2013

Penn State's IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon will kick off a countdown to the 2014 THON weekend with its 100 Days 'Til THON celebration on Wednesday, Nov. 13.

Every year in early November, Penn State student volunteers celebrate at each campus. At University Park campus, activities are planned throughout the day at HUB-Robeson Center. The celebration culminates on the Old Main lawn with a silent rave, where students dance while listening to their headphones, and a human photograph, where students line up to form the letters in “THON.”

This year’s 100 Days 'Til THON events include:
• A merchandise sale starting at 10 a.m.
• Festivities including cake, music and performances starting at 11 a.m.
• Musical and dancing performances by Peace.Love.Lyrical, The Statesman, Urban Dance Troupe and the Irish Dance Team
• The Hawk Family, a Four Diamonds fund family, will speak at 12:15 p.m.
• Line dance performances by Morale Captains at 11:15 a.m. and 2:15 p.m.
• On-stage hair donation for Wigs For Kids at 1:45 p.m.
• Silent rave on Old Main Lawn at 2:30 p.m., immediately followed by the human photograph, also on Old Main Lawn
