Nominations sought for Humanitarian Service Award

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The Forum on Black Affairs (FOBA) is seeking nominations for its 2014 Humanitarian Service Award, to be presented at the 39th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Banquet, Wednesday, Jan. 15, in President's Hall at The Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel. Doors open at 5:45 p.m. with the program beginning at 6:30 p.m.

This award was created in 1985 to honor a person who has provided outstanding service to African-American citizens of Pennsylvania, especially at Penn State and in the Centre County region. Such service includes leadership of offices, programs or organizations that develop or implement policies impacting African-Americans.

To nominate a candidate, submit a letter of not more than two pages in length that describes the nominee's credentials and qualifications for the award, and attach two supporting/relevant documents such as newspaper or magazine articles.
