Interactive, networking, educational events planned for Global Entrepreneurship

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The College of Engineering is partnering with other academic colleges and local businesses to coordinate a variety of activities for Global Entrepreneurship Week Nov. 18-22.

The week's events will kick off with the "All-Star Entrepreneurship Game Show" at 7 p.m. on Nov. 17 in 135 Reber. Robert Beaury, instructor in the School of Engineering Design, Technology and Professional Programs, and Mark Gagnon, Harbaugh Entrepreneurship Scholar and entrepreneurship coordinator in the College of Agricultural Sciences, will host the Jeopardy-style game show.

Students will have opportunities to network with local business owners at "Friends of Town and Gown Entrepreneurship" at 11 a.m. on Nov. 20 at the Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel.

The Council on Engaged Scholarship will host its first Engaged Scholarship Expo at 5 p.m. on Nov. 20 in the Foster Auditorium of the Paterno Library. Students, faculty and staff are invited to learn more about the scope and potential of engaged scholarship and connect with others who are passionate about the topic. Twelve engaged scholarship pioneers will present on their efforts.

Students seeking internships are invited to attend an internship potluck at 6 p.m. on Nov. 21 at the, 244 E. Nittany Ave. in State College, to learn more about opportunities at several State College-area businesses. Dinner is provided and an RSVP is requested at

Throughout the week, entrepreneurs will engage with students and share their experiences as they deliver presentations such as "The Evolution of a Start-up Idea," "Is E for Me? Why college is the best time in your life to start a business" and "I have an idea for a business. Now what?"
