Penn State Engineering Alumni Society announces fall grants

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The Penn State Engineering Alumni Society has announced the recipients of its Fall 2013 Affiliate Program Group (APG) grants.

Six APGs received grants between $250 and $1,000 for various programs and initiatives led by engineering alumni groups.

The Multicultural Engineering Program (MEP) APG received a $1,000 fellowship grant to support the group's first Multicultural Engineering Alumni Connections Networking Night in Washington, D.C. The MEP APG is partnering with the African-American Alumni Organization, the Penn State Latino Alumni Interest Group and the Penn State Metro Washington, D.C., alumni chapter on the event.

The Department of Biomedical Engineering received a $1,000 startup grant to support its inaugural alumni reunion, slated for May.

The Penn State Alumni Society of Architectural Engineering received a $500 new program grant to develop a promotional architectural engineering magnet.

The Penn State Civil and Environmental Engineering Alumni Society received a $500 new program grant to support an alumni panel discussion titled, "Career Paths: Personal Experiences of Civil and Environmental Engineering Alumni."

The Engineering Leadership Program Alumni Society received a $500 new program grant to support an alumni tailgate.

The Penn State Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering Society received a $500 new program grant to support two alumni career panel discussions events for industrial engineering students.
