Faculty Senate releases agenda for Oct. 22 meeting

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The University Faculty Senate will meet at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, in 112 Kern Graduate Building. The items below will be considered at the meeting.Penn State President Rodney Erickson will address the Senate and respond to questions. The President’s comments will be followed by remarks from Keith Masser, chairman of the board of trustees.A vote will be taken on a resolution which was presented at the Sept. 10 Senate meeting by Erica Smithwick, Earth and Mineral Sciences senator, regarding child care at Penn State.The General Education Planning and Oversight Task Force will present A Progress Report to the University Faculty Senate. The Senate Committees on Outreach and Student Life will present a joint report: "Update on Engaged Scholarship Initiative." Associate Vice President Ford Stryker will present the Five Year Capital Plan. Annual reports appearing in the agenda only and posted on the University Faculty Senate website include the Senate Committee on Undergraduate Education’s Summary of Petitions by College, Campus and Unit 2012-13. Senators with questions about this report may send their questions to senate@psu.edu and they will receive a response from the committee chair.Faculty Senate meetings are aired live via Mediasite.
