Free sessions for faculty and staff to look at 'Managing Income and Debt'

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The Penn State Office of Human Resources announced a free financial education workshop available to all faculty and staff. Two sessions of the program, "Inside Money: Managing Income and Debt", are scheduled for 1 to 2 p.m. and 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Oct. 18 in 431 James M. Elliott Building.

Sponsored by TIAA-CREF, "Inside Money" will show participants how to take control of their finances by learning to how to make and put in place a budget, by understanding the effects of debt on their lives and futures, and by determining how to make their money work for them. In addition, TIAA-CREF's workshop leader will explain the big picture of budgeting, including the importance of cash flow and how to use it, changing the way participants look at saving and spending, and identifying good and bad debt and how to manage it.
