University Park Airport to offer nonstop Chicago flights beginning Jan. 7

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -- The Centre County Airport Authority and University Park Airport announced that United Airlines will begin twice daily nonstop United Express service between University Park Airport (SCE) and Chicago O’Hare Int’l (ORD) beginning Jan. 7.

The United Express flights will be operated by ExpressJet using 50-seat regional jet aircraft. Flight reservations are available immediately.

“We are thrilled to add Chicago to our list of nonstop cities,” said James Meyer, director of the Centre County Airport Authority. “Chicago is ranked No. 3 among the top destination cities for passengers in this region, and it offer a convenient connecting city for westbound flights.”

University Park Airport, located at 2535 Fox Hill Road, State College, offers a daily selection of flights to several major hubs such as Detroit, Philadelphia, Washington/Dulles and soon Chicago. Avis, Hertz and National car rentals are available as well as free Wi-Fi, a café, courtesy airline baggage scales, ATM banking services and local hotel phones to call for reservation and limousine services.

“Non-stop service to Chicago O’Hare has long been a priority, and we are very excited that our community will now have daily service to O’Hare, which offers hundreds of domestic and international connections,” said Bryan Rodgers, director of the University Park Airport. “This new scheduling option brings us closer to our goal of offering our travelers unparalleled convenience, comfort, reliability and flexibility.”
