Parking office announces 2013-14 student rates

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The Penn State Parking Office has announced the registration dates and permit rates for student parking for the Fall 2013 and Spring 2014 semesters.

Registration for student parking for Fall 2013 and Spring 2014 will begin on the following dates:

NOTE: Both off-campus and on-campus student registration will begin on Tuesday, July 30. Off-campus was originally scheduled to begin July 29.

Off-Campus Student Registration

-- 8 a.m. Tuesday, July 30: Applies to students who will be living off campus for the 2013-14 academic year. Permit options will include the following:

Commuter: Lot 44, Stadium West and Porter North. This permit is for off-campus students in need of campus parking for class and other campus activities but who have overnight parking at their off-campus residence. With this permit, parking on campus between the hours of 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. is prohibited, seven days a week.

Long Term Storage: Lot 43. This permit is for off-campus students in need of overnight storage of their vehicles. To be eligible for this permit, students must have completed at least 28 credits prior to the Fall 2013 semester or be enrolled as a graduate student.

With a valid commuter or long-term storage permit additional lot access is available after 4 p.m. on weekdays and throughout the day on Saturdays and Sundays (see Student Parking Map). 

On-Campus Student Registration

-- 8 a.m. Tuesday, July 30: Applies to students who will be living on campus for the 2013-2014 academic year. To be eligible for permit registration, on-campus students must have completed at least 28 credits prior to the Fall 2013 semester or be enrolled as a graduate student.  All Resident parking lots are available to permit holders 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with additional access available after 4 p.m. on weekdays and throughout the day on Saturdays and Sundays (see Student Parking Map). Permit options will include the following:

Resident Core: Brown 11 (White Course Apartments), Lot 22 (Eastview Terrace), Lot 42 (Nittany Apartments), Lot 81 (Pollock and South Halls), Lot 82 (East Halls), YWH (Nittany Deck parking for West Halls residents).

Resident Long Term Storage: Lot 83 (available for all eligible on-campus students).

Permit registration can be completed online or at the Parking Office, located at 1 Eisenhower Parking Deck. In order to complete registration, students will need their Penn State ID, full local address and the license plate information for their vehicle(s). Registrations completed online are charged to the student's bursar account, while in-person registrations at the Parking Office have the following payment options: cash, check or money order, LionCash+, major credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover) or charge to the student's bursar account

Permits can be mailed to the student's home address, or they can be held for pickup during student arrival at the Parking Office. Normal business hours for the Parking Office are 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, though special student arrival hours will be observed from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, and Sunday, Aug. 25.Please direct any questions to the Parking Office by phone at 814-865-1436 or by email at parking@psu.edu.
