Smeal faculty member moderates Philadelphia panel discussion on marketing

Penn State Smeal College of Business’ Margaret Meloy, associate professor of marketing, moderated a panel discussion on changes and challenges facing today’s chief marketing officers at a recent Philadelphia American Marketing Association (PAMA) event sponsored by the Philadelphia-based Penn State Smeal Executive MBA Program.

The discussion featured Penn State alumni panelists Diane Adams (marketing, ’82), chief marketing officer of FXI; Scott Weintraub, chief marketing officer of Healthcare Regional Marketing; and Jane Taylor, vice president of communications and marketing at the Wilderness Society.

The discussion topics included exciting opportunities in marketing today, approaches to solving enterprise and customer challenges, and useful partners and resources.

The event was part of a PAMA CMO Breakfast series in which chief marketing officers contribute to candid discussions about today’s marketing issues.

Meloy, a Smeal faculty member since 2002, has research expertise in consumer and managerial decision-making biases and heuristics, with a special emphasis on how moods influence consumer information processing, preference construction and choice behavior.
