Libraries help relieve students' stress during finals

Chair massages, beverages and snacks available

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- This year again, Penn State's University Libraries are going out of their way to offer students at University Park ways to relieve stress during finals. From 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 28, to Wednesday, May 1, in Mann Assembly Room, 103 Paterno Library, students can enjoy free beverages and snacks (coffee, hot tea, bottled water and granola bars) plus chair massages by local massage therapists Jen Spence and Katie Parisou.

Head of the Knowledge Commons Joe Fennewald said, "Last December, the event drew approximately 300 students nightly. Because of its popularity, we added Wednesday night to this year's event. It is our way of recognizing the stress students have during the last week of the semester and helping them de-stress with food and a back rub."

The service is sponsored by Access Services, Cataloging, Digital Library Technologies, I-Tech, the Knowledge Commons and Library Learning Services.
