TV Field Production class to hold advance screening of news show

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – COMM 282, the Television Field Production course, is ready to air its final project, a 15-minute news show titled "Our Penn State Lehigh Valley" at 12:15 p.m. Thursday, April 25, in the auditorium at Penn State Lehigh Valley. The course, new this semester and instructed by PBS station manager Amy Burkett, had students working and filming at the PBS-39 studio located at the SteelStacks in Bethlehem. The event is free and open to the public.

Students are learning every aspect of TV field production, from manning the camera to conducting an interview, here with Lehigh Valley campus men's basketball coach Anthony Ross.

The news show covers Penn State Lehigh Valley's involvement in THON, research that is currently being done on campus, an inside look at art instructor Ron DeLong's life and an interview with basketball coach Anthony Ross. The students have been working on these stories since January and are proud to present them to the public. Burkett will also attend the screening.

"Our Penn State Lehigh Valley" will air on WLVT PBS-39 at 8:30 p.m. April 30, at 7:30 p.m. May 3, and at noon and 6:30 p.m. May 5.
