Photos: Powwow marks 10th year

American Indian powwow honors traditions, family values.

Native American Dancers from as far away as Canada, South Dakota and New Mexico are performing ceremonial and traditional dances and ceremonies at the 10th annual New Faces of an Ancient People Traditional American Indian Powwow on April 6 and 7. The 10th annual New Faces of an Ancient People Traditional American Indian Powwow took place April 6 and 7 Mount Nittany Middle School in Boalsburg, Pa. Sponsored jointly by Penn State and the State College Area School District, the powwow attracts American Indian dancers and Native Drum Groups from American Indian reservations and communities across the U.S. and Canada. The powwow has earned a national reputation as an excellent example of honoring family values and remembering American Indian traditions.
