March 26, 2013

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The 10th annual College of Engineering Research Symposium (CERS) is set for April 2 at the Nittany Lion Inn. The event, free and open to the public, begins at 8 a.m. and ends at 5 p.m.

Brian Schratz, lead engineer for the entry descent and landing telecommunications effort for NASA's Mars Science Laboratory mission and a 2006 electrical engineering graduate, will give the keynote address, "To Mars on a Collision Course," at noon.

The annual CERS allows Penn State students to exhibit and present research papers, theses, works in progress, designs and posters. The event also lets students network with industry representatives and faculty.

The event is sponsored by the Engineering Graduate Student Council.
