University Police to offer self-defense program for female students

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- A self-defense program for female Penn State students will be offered from 6 to 9 p.m. April 8, 10, 15 and 17, in 112 Weston Community Center at the White Course Apartment Complex. 

Certified instructors from University Police will offer the free program from Rape Aggression Defense Systems that will include awareness, prevention, risk reduction and avoidance options. Participants are encouraged to attend all four sessions.

Sign up is from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, in 204 Boucke Building. For more information, call 814-863-2027.

The program is funded by the Giardini Endowment for the Empowerment of Women Students.
