Baseball home opener vs. Akron canceled

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The Penn State baseball team’s home opener against Akron, scheduled for March 20, has been cancelled due to weather conditions. The Nittany Lions will head back out on the road for the Big Ten season opener this Friday, March 22 against Indiana. The Hoosiers will host PSU for a three-game conference series, with Friday’s contest being moved up to 4 p.m., Saturday’s contest at 2 p.m. and Sunday’s first pitch being slated for noon.

With the changes in the schedule, Penn State’s first home game of the 2013 season is currently set for Wednesday, March 27 against the University of Pittsburgh at 6:05 p.m. at Medlar Field.

Season tickets for students are just $20, with Student General Admission tickets starting at $2 and Student Bleacher tickets at $1. Season tickets for Adult General Admission start at $63, while Adult General Admission tickets are sold for $4. For fans interested in the Diamond Club “In the Box” seats, single games start at $6 and season tickets will be sold for $99. Youth General Admission and Season tickets are the same cost as student tickets. Single game tickets can be purchased at the Spikes’ Box Office or via the Tickets page on GoPSUSports.com.
