Walk to benefit Penn State Hershey Medical Center

Not only is walking an easy, low-cost form of exercise that improves the heart’s overall performance, but now it’s also a great way to help raise money for Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.

On May 18, Medical Center faculty, staff and friends will gather for the eighth annual Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community at Harrisburg Area Community College.

The Medical Center is one of 41 local health and human service organizations participating in the 2013 walk. Highmark Blue Shield underwrites the cost of the walk, so that 100 percent of the money raised by walkers goes directly to support one of six teams hosted by the Medical Center.

Register today to support Team Center Stage, Team Children’s Heart Group, Team Emergency Medicine, Team Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis, Team Heart and Vascular Institute or Team Children’s Hospital.

Registration is free. Walkers who raise at least $25 will receive a free walk T-shirt. For more information, visit walkforahealthycommunity.org or email HighmarkWalk@psu.edu.
