Teachers of the Year Announced

The Penn State Shenango 2001-2002 teaching awards were announced at this year's campus advisory board annual dinner meeting. Shirley Dillaman, instructor in biology, was awarded the Leonard R. Riforgiato Memorial Teaching Award and Jane Viti, part-time instructor in biology, was awarded the Margaret Cunningham Foley Memorial Teaching Award. Dillaman has taught anatomy and physiology at the campus since 1984. She has written and received several educational grants, and co-created an "Interactive Tutorial on the Human Muscular System," which she has incorporated into her classes. Viti joined the campus in 2001 to teach human biology and microbiology, and recently completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh. She belongs to the Society for Neuroscience and the American Society for Cell Biology.
