Heard on Campus: Krauthammer on Protective Technology

"We are now dealing with 'disproportional warfare' from adversaries with very focused agendas, and we must have a broad perspective of all aspects of threat assessment and physical security. The purpose of Penn State's Protective Technology Center is to lead the U.S. academic community in support of Department of Defense homeland defense and force protection research and development. Its research is focused on the blast protection of sea and land-based structures and systems."
-- Ted Krauthammer, director the Protective Technology Center and professor of civil engineering, in his opening remarks to attendeesof Modern Protective Structures 2002, a Penn State engineering short course being held this week at the Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel.
