More Than $200,000 in Scholarships Awarded

September 06, 2002

With the increase in Penn State's tuition this year a concern for many students, Penn State Shenango was pleased to give out more than $200,000 in scholarships to incoming first-year and returning students. More than 100 students received support from one or more of the dozens of scholarships that are available to students attending the Shenango campus. According to Steve Hessmann, director of Institutional Advancement and Alumni Relations, "The response to giving and the establishment of new scholarships during the Grand Destiny campaign have been terrific. As a principal focus in Shenango's campaign, scholarships at the campus have increased dramatically, enabling us to help those students who are deserving of these awards."
