Johnson Makes Final Cut for Doak Walker Award

Penn State tailback Larry Johnson has been selected as one of three finalists for the Doak Walker Award, presented annually to the nation's top collegiate running back. The announcement was made by the SMU Athletic Forum Board of Directors. The nation's leading rusher and all-purpose runner, Johnson is joined by Chris Brown (Colorado) and Willis McGahee (Miami, Fla.) as finalists the Doak Walker Award. Former Nittany Lions Ki-Jana Carter (1994) and Curtis Enis (1997) have been among the three finalists for the honor in previous years.
