Larry Johnson Named Team MVP at Nittany Lion Football Banquet

All-America tailback Larry Johnson has been presented the Hall Foundation Award as Penn State's outstanding senior player to highlight the State College Quarterback Club's annual banquet honoring the Nittany Lion football team. Johnson rushed for 2,015 yards, averaging 8.0 yards per carry, to become just the ninth player in NCAA Division I-A history to rush for 2,000 yards in the regular season. A Heisman Trophy candidate, Johnson has been named to the FWAA and AFCA All-America teams, is the Chevrolet Offensive Player of the Year and a finalist for the Maxwell and Doak Walker Awards.
