Two Penn State DuBois Students Represent Campus in THON

Two Penn State DuBois students will be "doin' it straight for 48" at the 31st annual Penn State Dance Marathon (THON) scheduled for Friday-Sunday, Feb. 21-23 at Rec Hall on the University Park campus. Laina Dufour of Clearfield and Jessica Moore of Pittsburgh will be among 650 students from across the Penn State system who will help raise money for pediatric cancer research as they dance for 48 hours at THON, the largest student-run philanthropic event in the nation. "Staying awake and moving from 7 p.m. on Friday until 7 p.m. on Sunday will be challenging, but I like to help people and I think this will be a great opportunity to help a lot of people at one time," observed Moore. To date, the annual dance marathon has raised more than $25 million for pediatric cancer research programs sponsored by the Four Diamonds Fund at Penn State's Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. Last year alone, THON broke all previous records in raising $3.6 million. For the full story, visit http://www.ds.psu.edu/UnivRelations/NewsEvents/thon.html
