Newswire Extra: THON Highlights Busy Weekend on Campus

There was no lack of activity on Penn State's University Park campus this past weekend. Going on the entire weekend in Rec Hall was THON, the largest student-run philanthropic event in the world. The 48-hour dance marathon raised more than $3.6 million for the Four Diamonds Fund for support of families with children who have cancer at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. Country singer Alan Jackson kicked off the weekend at the Bryce Jordan Center Friday night (Feb. 21), and Liza Minnelli closed out the weekend there.
