Penn State DuBois student club prepares treats for troops

April 03, 2003

Students at Penn State DuBois are doing their part to support American troops stationed overseas. Thanks to the efforts of the campus Occupational Therapy (OT) Club, some U.S. troops will be receiving care packages from DuBois through the 'Treats for Troops' project. "We've seen a lot of deployments from the area and the campus, this is our way of letting the troops know we appreciate their sacrifice," says Lindsey Tapper of DuBois, OT Club president. The boxes contain a variety of snack foods, as well as pens and stationery, playing cards, word-search books, toiletries, and cards of appreciation signed by campus students, faculty, and staff. Funds to purchase the items were collected from the campus community. For the full story, visit
