Ace pitcher Hamilton earns Big Ten's weekly baseball honor

April 04, 2003

Junior pitcher Clayton Hamilton became the second straight Penn State hurler to earn Big Ten Pitcher of the Week accolades with his eight-inning, two-hit blanking of Purdue last week in West Lafayette, Ind. Hamilton had a no-hitter going into the sixth inning versus Purdue and went on to strike out a career-high 13 batters -- five looking -- and walked two while facing just three batters over the minimum in the Nittany Lions' 6-0 victory. He lowered his ERA to 3.04 on the season while posting his second win. For more on this story, go to http://www.GoPSUsports.com/pressreleases/pressrelease.cfm?anncid=4275
