April 22, 2003

The Morris K. Udall Foundation has awarded scholarships to four Penn State undergraduates for the 2003-04 academic year, based on their potential to contribute to society through environmental careers. The program focuses on scholarships in environmental topics, health care and tribal policy, and is backed by the federal government. Winning support at Penn State were juniors Tressa Gibbard of Wayne, environmental resource management; Jesse Hunting of Bala Cynwyd, landscape architecture; Matt McMahon of Glenshaw, landscape architecture and biology; and Kerri Pratt of Kingsley, chemistry. Nationally, 80 students received up to $5,000 each through the program.
