Alumni career program leads high school students to campus

April 25, 2003

High schools students from across the region caught a glimpse of what the future workplace might hold for them at the recent Career Day sponsored by the Penn State DuBois Alumni Society. More than 400 sophomores, juniors and seniors from nine schools attended this year's event, held March 26 at the campus. The students had the opportunity to talk one-on-one with more than 30 professionals employed across the tri-county region in the fields of banking, education, engineering, environmental sciences, health care, journalism, law enforcement and real estate, to name a few. The experience gave them much-needed insight into future career options. As students cruised the campus gymnasium, they chatted with as many presenters as they wished, asking specific questions about career opportunities, daily work experiences, educational requirements and salary ranges.
