Penn State Bookstore offers added advantage for faculty and staff

University Park, Pa. -- Faculty and staff patrons of the Penn State Bookstore already receive the benefit of 10 percent off purchases of general and reference reading materials, and a 30 percent discount on campus bestsellers. However, Penn State employees now have an additional purchasing perk: a complimentary Barnes & Noble Readers' Advantage membership.

The Readers' Advantage program is Barnes & Noble's customer loyalty discount program, and is made available to all faculty and staff as a result of Penn State's special partnership with Barnes & Noble College Bookstores. The program normally costs $25.00 annually to join, and applies to purchases at off-campus Barnes & Noble Booksellers and online at barnesandnoble.com.

"I'm pleased that Penn State's Faculty and Staff can take advantage of this offer, while still enjoying the discount benefits offered by the Penn State Bookstore," said Daniel Sieminski, assistant vice president for finance and business at Penn State.

Among the benefits of membership to faculty and staff are:

- Ten percent savings on every item at any Barnes & Noble bookstore, including books, compact discs, DVDs, videos, gifts and café purchases;

- Five percent savings on items at barnesandnoble.com;

- Special offers and discounts exclusive to members.

Faculty and staff interested in obtaining a free membership in the Readers' Advantage program should present their faculty/staff ID card at any of the Penn State Bookstores to obtain a Readers' Advantage welcome kit.
