Altoona faculty, staff receive honors at awards ceremony

Several Penn State Altoona faculty and staff recently received awards at the College's faculty and staff awards ceremony luncheon, held on campus at the Port-Sky Café. Undergraduate studies counselor Harriett L. Gaston, staff assistant Barbara S. Brunhuber and janitorial staff worker Deborah J. Shelow received Ted J. Long Staff Excellence Awards; and Victor W. Brunsden, assistant professor of mathematics, and Roselyn Costantino, associate professor of Spanish and women's studies, were honored with Grace D. Long Faculty Excellence Awards. William G. Engelbret, head of the division of business and engineering, was recognized for 25 years of service to the University. Maureen B. Ramey, part-time instructor in mathematics, was presented with the Part-Time Faculty Outstanding Lecturer Award; Lee Ann DeReus, assistant professor of human development and family studies and women's studies, received the Penn State Altoona Liaison Commission for Women in Leadership Award; Karyn D. McKinney, assistant professor of sociology, was presented with an Alpha Phi Sigma Honorary Member Award; and John Lennox, professor of microbiology, received the Athleen Stere Teaching Award.
