President's Convocation for new students to be Webcast live Aug. 28

A welcoming convocation for new Penn State students will be held in the Bryce Jordan Center on the University Park campus on Thursday, Aug. 28, and Webcast live at http://wpsx.psu.edu/convocation starting at 7 p.m.
The President's Convocation kicks off the new academic year and introduces students to the Penn State family. Many community members, faculty and staff also attend. The event begins at 7 p.m. with warm-up music and video entertainment and the Nittany Lion's antics. Starting at 7:30 p.m., speakers will include University President Graham Spanier; Ian Rosenberger, Undergraudate Student Government president; Bill Welch, mayor of State College; and emcee Nicole Lobaugh, student representative to the Board of Trustees.
