September 12, 2003

University Park, Pa. -- The Penn State Student United Way has turned a once-a-year event into a regular occurrence, with the opening of the Centre County United Way Trash to Treasure Sale Room on Penn State's University Park campus. The sale room, which can be found behind Salvage off Big Hollow Road near University Drive (past Park Avenue), will be open the second Saturday of each month this fall semester, and may be open additional dates as well.

At the end of each semester, students donate their unwanted items to the sale. Donations include rugs, computers, TV's, furniture, bedding, clothing, shoes and more. Proceeds from the sale help to fund 36 local health and human service organizations through the Centre County United Way. For more information, call 814-238-8283, e-mail info@ccunitedway.org or visit the Centre County United Way Web site at http://www.ccunitedway.org
