October 20, 2003

University Park, Pa. -- ABC Sports will televise Penn State's Big Ten clash with Ohio State on Saturday, Nov. 1 to a regional audience. Kickoff has been set for 3:30 p.m. EST in Beaver Stadium.

The game is sold out.

The telecast is the seventh announced TV appearance of the season for the Nittany Lions. Penn State has appeared on three ABC telecasts (Boston College, Nebraska and Purdue), once on ESPN (Minnesota) and twice on ESPN Regional (Temple and Wisconsin). The Nittany Lions have appeared on television in 110 of their last 112 games.

ABC will be televising the Penn State-Ohio State clash for the 10th time in the last 11 meetings between the national powers, including next week's game.

Penn State and Ohio State will be meeting for the 11th consecutive year since the Nittany Lions began Big Ten play in 1993. The home team has won nine of the 10 meetings as conference foes, with Penn State posting a 3-1 mark vs. the Buckeyes at home as Big Ten members.

The Nittany Lions lead the overall series, 10-8, posting a 4-2 mark vs. Ohio State in Happy Valley. Last year, Penn State held OSU without an offensive touchdown, but the Buckeyes earned a hard-fought 13-7 win in Columbus.

Penn State returns to action Saturday, visiting No. 16 Iowa at 11 a.m. CDT/noon p.m. EDT. ABC will televise the contest to a regional audience.

Ohio State (6-1, 2-1) is ranked No. 8 in the AP and USA Today/ESPN Coaches' polls and visits Indiana this Saturday before traveling to State College.

Future Penn State contests may be selected by the networks under the six and 12-day provisions of their contracts with the Big Ten.
