IST faculty and students host emerging technologies series

November 03, 2003

Pat Clemson, instructor in information sciences and technology, and her students in the IST 402 class, "Emerging Technologies," are hosting several speakers this month. The programs are free and open to all campus faculty, staff, and students. On Tuesday, Nov. 4, a representative from FedEx will speak at 2 p.m. in room 16, Study Learning Center, regarding new systems that are being developed for increased technological support at FedEx. On Thursday, Nov.13, a representative of "The Jogger," will speak at 2 p.m. in the SUB Lodge. "The Jogger" is a new system that has been developed to assist those with memory loss or dysfunction by "speaking" to the client periodically throughout the day to jog his or her memory to complete tasks. Fred Kellinger, part-time campus lecturer in business, has been involved in the development and marketing of this new tool. For information about the emerging technologies series, contact Clemson at or (724) 773-3971.
