Penn State Erie a leader in outreach to children

A recent count by Penn State's Division of Continuing Education discovered that during the past academic year 2,340 children ages 5-18 were served by campus-based youth program activities at Penn State Behrend. According to James Campbell, director of Outreach Operations for the University, that figure makes Penn State Behrend the leader in this category for the twenty-three Penn State locations other than University Park.
"This is wonderful news," said Ken Miller, director of student life, who oversees the summer College for Kids program. "As a land-grant university it's part of our mission to reach out to all our constituents, and we seem to be doing an excellent job with our youngsters." Read the full story at
