Penn State Shenango students to hold "Mini-THON"

Penn State Shenango students will be holding a Mini-THON fund-raiser to support kids with cancer beginning 8 p.m. Friday, Dec.19, to 8 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 20, at the F.H. Buhl Club's Gymnasium in Sharon. Over 250 high school students from all over the county will be participating in the 12-hour dance marathon. The students participating are encouraged to raise money for this event, and the school that collects the most money will receive a trophy. A separate trophy will be awarded to the individual student who raises the most money for the Mini-THON. This fund-raiser is a local event, which will support the main Penn State Dance Marathon to be held at the University Park campus in February. THON, which was started over 30 years ago, is the largest student-run philanthropy in the nation.
