Summer activities on display at second annual Youth Fair

Summer vacation may be months away, but children and parents can sample activities from art classes to basketball camps at Penn State's Summer Youth Fair. The free event — with free parking — is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, in President's Hall at The Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel on the University Park campus. Fair planners have designed it to be a comprehensive gathering of youth program representatives from Penn State and all of Central Pennsylvania.

Exhibitors will be on hand with information about programs, application forms and activities. The Summer Youth Fair, sponsored by Penn State Continuing Education, is a great opportunity to learn about, compare and sign up for the camps and other programs — all at one location.

No reservations are needed. Parents and children from kindergarten through high school will be able to:

-- see the wide variety of programs offered in the Centre Region;
-- talk one-on-one with camp organizers;
-- get answers to questions about camps and volunteer activities;
-- take home information to help in making decisions about summer activities; and
-- register on-site for many programs.
