Bequests totaling $75,000 received from Beaver faculty members

John Simpson, associate professor of chemistry, and his wife, Renny, have established a $50,000 bequest in their will to provide the Dr. John and Renny Simpson Endowed Scholarship at Penn State Beaver. Simpson, a longtime faculty member, and his wife, a retired engineer for NOVA Chemicals, Inc., have indicated the scholarship will be used to support students studying in areas of science. In addition, Russell Brignano, retired associate professor of English, and his wife, Mary, have established a $25,000 bequest to provide endowed support for the Brignano Collection of African-American Autobiography in the campus library. Brignano and his wife, a free-lance writer and consultant, established the collection prior to his retirement from Penn State.
