Penn Stater of the quarter selected

Linda M. Curinga, coordinator of community relations and communications at Penn State McKeesport, has been chosen Penn Stater of the Quarter for the period of October, November, and December 2004. This recognition program was developed by the Commonwealth College as an opportunity to thank those faculty, staff, and students who serve the University above and beyond their normal duties. Curinga was nominated and received the Penn Stater of the Quarter Award for organizing the grand opening activities for the new Student Community Center. Curinga's work with volunteers on the Advisory Board, students, faculty, staff, and local community and business members enabled the festivities to unfold on time and on budget. Her community involvement has helped establish Penn State McKeesport as a premiere site for business, educational, political, and cultural events.
