New student health-education group seeks members

April 06, 2004

Over the past semester, a group of Penn State student leaders who are interested in promoting a healthy Penn State community developed a new student organization called BACCHUS/GAMMA. This group is chartered with the national BACCHUS and GAMMA Network, an international association of college and university-based peer education programs focusing on alcohol abuse prevention and other related student health and safety issues.

Penn State BACCHUS/GAMMA will officially begin in fall 2004, but has begun recruiting executive and committee chair positions, as well as potential members. Committees include Advocacy, Campaigns, Peer Theatre, Recruitment/Morale, Public Relations/Marketing and Research/Evaluation.

Students who are interested in getting involved in the grassroots development of BACCHUS and GAMMA at Penn State should visit http://www.personal.psu.edu/rcm190 for more information and to print out an application. Questions can be directed to bacchusgamma@psu.edu.
