New student health-education group seeks members

April 06, 2004

Over the past semester, a group of Penn State student leaders who are interested in promoting a healthy Penn State community developed a new student organization called BACCHUS/GAMMA. This group is chartered with the national BACCHUS and GAMMA Network, an international association of college and university-based peer education programs focusing on alcohol abuse prevention and other related student health and safety issues.

Penn State BACCHUS/GAMMA will officially begin in fall 2004, but has begun recruiting executive and committee chair positions, as well as potential members. Committees include Advocacy, Campaigns, Peer Theatre, Recruitment/Morale, Public Relations/Marketing and Research/Evaluation.

Students who are interested in getting involved in the grassroots development of BACCHUS and GAMMA at Penn State should visit for more information and to print out an application. Questions can be directed to
